Home Community Cafe receives City of Sanctuary Award

We were delighted to hold an event last week to present Home Community Cafe in Earlsfield with a City of Sanctuary Award for their amazing work creating a safe and welcoming space for refugees and asylum seekers. This is the first Sanctuary Award to be presented in the Borough and stands testament to the inspiring work of Meg and everyone at the Cafe, not only in their efforts to support displaced people who have been resettled locally, but also in the success of the Cafe in encouraging friendships across our community.

We’d like to thank everyone who came. It was a really special evening with music, poetry and storytelling, and was a great opportunity to share ideas! The SW Londoner had a good write-up here.
